SYNOPSIS:

After years as a slave to the pleasures of the powerful, Talia knows how to make a man mad with lust. But her pleasure counts for nothing–until a handsome, ruthless stranger appears. Ryder dares to look at her… to touch her… to awake in her a desire she’s never imagined. When he kidnaps her to learn her secrets, Talia vows not to let her passion take control. But soon she discovers that her captor’s intense gaze and searching hands can perform their own kind of interrogation, a sweet torture she finds impossible to resist…

MY THOUGHTS:

I am sitting here trying to think what to write about this book and all I can think about is my husbands reaction when I explained what the book was about. Natalia is from a different planet where there are few women. The women that are there, are owned and basically sex slaves to their owners. She must parade around naked in front of her owner and be covered around anyone else. She only gets time to herself during sleep hours. Ryder is from another planet and he kidnaps her and takes her to his home. He kidnaps her initially to get information about when her owners, the high council members, plan on attacking his planet he lives on. They slowly fall in love, but quickly fall in lust with each other. As I was explaining all this to my husband, he wiggled his eyebrows and looked at me. I gave him the look of what? He then said that hmmm…a wife who is a sex slave! LOL…Sorry, we live on Earth hubby and I kind of like to think that you are my sex slave. LOL.

I liked how this story was paced and how the plot was not just sex though. It had suspense which is hard to balance in an erotica novel. I also liked how each character had their own little story throughout the book. The author wrapped up each characters story with the ending they deserve. The author certainly has a knack for writing many small stories into one novel and making it all go together.

Now, that I have found out about this author, I think I will have to look into getting some more of her books to read.

HAVE YOURSELF A NAUGHTY LITTLE SANTA

SYNOPSIS:

HE KNOWS IF YOU’VE BEEN BAD OR GOOD….

Picture-perfect Evergreen, California, nestled on the shores of Reindeer Lake in the snowy Sierras, is the perfect place for a no-strings holiday fling with a gorgeous Latin lover. Workaholic Kimberly Michaels didn’t come to Evergreen only to enjoy herself, though; she’s there to consummate a development deal in which her company will take over the town — whether the town wants it or not. Ricco Maza, whose sister owns the quaint B & B where Kim is staying, may be the hottest man she’s ever met (and the only one who can persuade her to relax enough for an orgasm!) but if he discovers why Kim is in town, she’ll soon be finding more coal and switches than kisses in her Christmas stocking. And as Kim’s frosty winter nights steam up with her sexy Santa, she realizes she’s going to have to make a choice. Is winning the deal truly the most important thing in life, or will this jaded cynic let Santa finally give her a little taste of Christmas magic?

MY THOUGHTS:

I wanted to start reading a Christmas book to get in the mood for the holidays, and look at what I found! A romance with Christmas and a naughty Santa on the cover!

I really enjoyed this book! The book is set in a town called Evergreen that is going under financially due to lack of tourists from the horrible weather. I love how the Bed And Breakfast has rooms named after the reindeer, a lake called Reindeer lake, stores that are named Jingle Bells, Away in a Manger, Five Golden Rings jewelry store and Mistletoe Florals for flowers! You have town who is all about the Christmas season and even an ice skating rink for kids. It was sweet the way the romance between Kim and Ricco developed and I found myself rooting for them all throughout the book. I was sad to see this holiday read end. I think I will have to go and find more Christmas reads to keep me in the great mood this book left me with!

Before I get to my book reviews for the day, I thought I would share some vampire videos with you! The first one I actually found over at Vampire Wire featuring Vampire Diaries bad boy Damon. The second one was from True Blood featuring Eric. Enjoy the Vampire bloodiness!

Today I have a special treat for all of you! Today we have author Alyson Noel for a question and answer interview. Alyson is the author of the Immortal Series including: Evermore, Blue Moon and Shadowland. Let’s get started!

1. Can you tell us a little about your books?

I’m the author of ten books for teens and adults, including my bestselling series, The Immortals—a paranormal romance about two, star-crossed, soul mates who come together again and again through the centuries only to be confronted by bitter enemies determined to keep them from their happily ever after.

2. Which characters were the easiest to write about? The hardest?

Ever was the easiest for me to write as I could totally relate to her grief of losing her loved ones and how lost she felt because of it. I’d gone through my own bout of grief and loss just a few years before—it was an experience that ended up inspiring the series. But Damen was the most challenging as he evolved quite a bit from how I originally pictured him. He first started out as too perfect—too “good.” Not that I have a problem with good guys—I married one! But when I considered the fact that he’d been around for six hundred years, well, I figured he’d have his share of baggage, and once I started writing him that way he became way more complex and interesting to me!

3. Meeting you was a wonderful experience! Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed at your success with your Immortal series?

That was a really fun book singing and I was thrilled that so many people showed up! Writing can be such a solitary endeavor—it ’s usually just me, my computer, and the voices in my head!—so getting a chance to meet with readers, whether it be in person, on facebook, myspace, my blog, or my bulletin-board is definitely one of the best parts. I’m continuously amazed by what a generous, enthusiastic, and friendly, group of readers I have—and I’m incredibly grateful for them!

4. I know that you gave me great advice at the book signing for Shadowland. When you first started writing, did a certain author(s) inspire you to write as well?

After I read Judy Blume’s book ARE YOU THERE GOD, IT’S ME MARGARET way back in sixth grade, I knew I wanted to be a writer too. I’d always been an avid reader, but Judy Blume’s books were the first I could relate to directly. At the time, she was one of only a handful of YA authors who were addressing adolescence as it really is—in all of its wonderful, glorious, poignant, difficult, and at times, downright heartbreaking glory, and I knew that someday I wanted to try to do that too. I was lucky enough to meet her a few years back at a library conference in Washington DC and I got the chance to tell her how much she inspired me, and she was as wonderful and amazing and gracious as I hoped she would be!

5. Can you tell us a little about what is next for the characters in The Immortal Series?

**SPOILER ALERT!!! If you have not read Shadowland, please scroll down to #6!!**

Okay, now that that’s done with, all I can say is that Dark Flame will pick up right where Shadowland left off, with Ever having to determine what’s really up with:

Jude—is he good or evil?

Ava—what was she really doing at Roman’s?

The twins—can they ever get back to Summerland?

Roman—just how far will he go to antagonize her?

The dark magick she unwittingly cast—will there be side effects?

Miles’s trip to Florence—why is Damen so worried?

Munoz—will he really keep her secret from Sabine?

Stacia and Honor—is there more trouble ahead?

And, of course, Haven—how will she use her new powers?

Ever will really have her hands full!

6. Next up are 5 random favorites:

Color: Purple—but turquoise, pleas know that you run a close second!

Drink: Green tea

Music: Classic rock

Book: Impossible to chose one, so: Catcher in the Rye, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Wuthering Heights, Rebecca, Jane Eyre, The Lovely Bones, Perks of Being a Wallflower, High Fidelity, . . . for starters!

Food: French bistro—mostly because of the herbed frites dipped in mayonnaise!

7. When you sit down to write, what are 3 things that you must have?

My laptop, my headphones, a fresh cup of green tea, and a candle (I know that’s actually 4 but they are all necessary!)

8. Do you have any websites that fans can keep up with you and your books?

Yep! Here’s the list:
