SYNOPSIS:

The Argeneau family has a secret . . . one of their own is a rogue vampire!

Nicholas Argeneau was once a successful hunter who went after rogue vampires who broke the immortal law. Except no one has mentioned his name in the last fifty years, not since he turned into a rogue himself. But once a hunter, always a hunter. When Nicholas sees a bloodthirsty sucker terrifying a woman, it’s second nature for him to come to her rescue. He had no idea he would also want to kiss her senseless . . .

One minute Josephine Willan is taking in a breath of fresh air, and the next sharp fangs are heading straight for her neck! Luckily, a gorgeous stranger saves her life . . . and gets locked up for his troubles. Can a man who kisses so lovingly and passionately really have committed the crime he’s accused of? Jo isn’t so sure . . . and she’s determined to prove that this renegade hunter is worth fighting for.

MY TAKE:
I am in heaven. I just finished reading this book and I have missed my Argeneau family. Now that I have my fix, I can share my review with you. Lynsay has created another masterpiece book and it sits proudly with every other one of her books I own. I enjoyed this book. I loved her creativeness and witty humor that she is famous for. I love how Jo tells off the head of the family Lucian and everyone can’t believe she is talking to a council member the way she is! She has fire and is a no nonsense heroine that fits perfectly with our rogue vampire on the run. I will never again read another vampire book without thinking of Shake and Bake chicken though. Trust me, read the book to get the pun because it is hilarious! The only thing that frustrated me about this book is the ending. It just stops. No explainations on how he is innocent and who frames Nicholas! I was thinking, maybe I am missing some pages, but nope. That’s how it ends. Now I know Ms. Sands will explain in detail about it in her next book in this series, but come on! They don’t come out fast enough to the book stores and I think not explaining an ending after reading a whole book is just a no-no. With that being said, Ms. Sands is still one of my favorite authors. I will continue reading her books and will never miss one of her new releases.

MY RATING:

Outstanding Book! A definite favorite!

Olivia and Cain Breedlove, who are brother and sister, are shocked when they have their recently deceased Father’s will revealed to them. Olivia must marry within 6 months to a respectable man or she will receive none of her inheritance. If she also fails to do this, she is basically at the mercy of her brother’s goodwill and he would decide how much money she gets if he chooses so. Her brother tells her that she does not have to worry, he would take care of her and make sure she would be happy. Olivia is strong-willed and doesn’t want to have to rely on her brother. She asks her brother’s childhood friend Morgan to help her with a solution. She wants to find a man who is sexually right for her even though she is a virgin herself. She enlists his help in attending a brothel and become a watcher of the sexual art. When Olivia was younger, she and Morgan almost had a chance at falling in love, but her father put an end to it and told him he was never to even look at her again. Morgan never stopped loving her, and Olivia thought he didn’t care for her at all. Unfortunately, Olivia’s plan to win Morgan’s love backfires in many ways and women at the brothel start turning up dead.

This was a hot and steamy read that also featured suspense and mystery that is sometimes forgotten about in an erotica. The story was consistent and beautifully written. It didn’t come off as just a sex book, but as a romance with some witty humor written also. This book kept me on the edge of my seat and I usually don’t expect suspense written into an erotica. It surprised me and was believable. Just when you think you have it figured out, the author throws in some surprises you don’t see coming. When the story ended, I was sad. Not because of the way it ended, but simply because the story was over. I wanted this book to keep going because I was so wrapped up in the characters.

Simply put, I have found myself a new author. I am really surprised she hasn’t been picked up by some big publishing companies. She has the talent and the skills to make it big! She was also a wonderful writer to work with in the review process. I personally can’t wait to read her other books now that I have found her. This is one author I will be watching for new release’s in the future.

MY RATING:

Outstanding Book! A definite favorite!

I have been such a good girl. I haven’t bought any new books lately. I have been getting my books through contests, PBS and the library.

Until today.

I fell off the book wagon. We needed to go to Kmart today to get some household supplies and my hubby walked me by the books. He knows I can’t resist and I have a loving hubby who can’t tell me no. I caved. I couldn’t step out of my trance as I looked at all the books they had in this week!! I was an obvious book nerd today! People were looking at me strangely as I had armfuls of books to dump into the cart! I was in heaven! Here is what I got:

The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong (paperback)
The Awakening by Kelley Armstrong (hardcover)
MAX by James Patterson (paperback)
Immortal Sins by Amanda Ashley (paperback)
Dark Curse by Christine Feehan (paperback and my first by her)
Queene of Light by Jennifer Armintrout (paperback)
Kissed by an Angel by Elizabeth Chandler (paperback)
The Van alen Legacy by Melissa De La Cruz (hardcover)
City of Bones by Cassandra Clare(paperback, read already but had to have it for my library)
City of Glass by Cassandra Clare (hardcover)
Dark Visions by L.J. Smith(paperback)
Ninth Grade Slays by Heather Brewer(paperback)
Eighth Grade Bites by Heather Brewer(paperback)

Whew! What a haul!! And to top it off, I got 2 more books in the mail! I got High Maintenance in the mail from Rachel over at BookWorm Wannabe that I won in a contest and Cooking Up A Storm by Emma Holly from PaperBack Swap. I am in heaven. Man I wish CSN would contact me again to review another bookshelf!! I need about 4 more!

AND…..last Saturday my mom informed me of a yard sale with a lot of books, so of course I had to go. I got there and found A TON of Harlequin Suspense, Nocturne and Blaze!! They made me a deal! I got like 150 books for $4.00!!!! Can you believe that?!

Yes, I am in heaven. Thank you to my hubby for not complaining about all the books and not saying no! He will be VERY happy tonight! HEEHEE

Until later….
