SYNOPSIS:
WHY CAN’T YOU CHOOSE WHAT YOU FORGET . . .  AND WHAT YOU REMEMBER?  There’s a lot Zoey would like to forget. Like how her father has knocked up his twenty-four- year old girlfriend. Like Zoey’s fear that the whole town will find out about her mom’s nervous breakdown. Like darkly handsome bad boy Doug taunting her at school. Feeling like her life is about to become a complete mess, Zoey fights back the only way she knows how, using her famous attention to detail to make sure she’s the perfect daughter, the perfect student, and the perfect girlfriend to ultra-popular football player Brandon.  But then Zoey is in a car crash, and the next day there’s one thing she can’t remember at all—the entire night before. Did she go parking with Brandon, like she planned? And if so, why does it seem like Brandon is avoiding her? And why is Doug—of all people— suddenly acting as if something significant happened between the two of them? Zoey dimly remembers Doug pulling her from the wreck, but he keeps referring to what happened that night as if it was more, and it terrifies Zoey to admit how much is a blank to her. Controlled, meticulous Zoey is quickly losing her grip on the all-important details of her life—a life that seems strangely empty of Brandon, and strangely full of Doug.

MY THOUGHTS:

WOW! Amazing! Astounding! Breathtaking! Unforgettable!

Okay I assume you are wanting more of a review than just that one line. If I were to try and describe this book though, I am afraid I would give up spoilers and basically, I also don’t think I could do it justice.  This is the first book that I have been able to read so far by this author.  I have heard about her writing and how well she can create a story, but I never fully understood what this author is capable of.  So instead of trying to describe a brilliant book, I am just going to give you my opinions on the characters.

Zoey – I actually liked Zoey. She has been through a lot. Between her jerk of a father and mom who is a little mentally unstable, she has held herself together pretty well.  The one thing I didn’t like about her though, was how she automatically assumes since she slept with Brandon–knowing his personality–that they are a couple because of one night of sex in a vehicle.

Brandon – A football jock who thinks he is a sex God.  Yeah, that just about sums him up.  He has been friends with Zoey for awhile and they are like best friends.  He always comes to Zoey for advice on girls and she always gives it to him.

Doug – Ah, Doug. The bad boy of the book who spent time in juvie and got suspended from school for fighting. He has had a crush on Zoey for a long time, but everyone is afraid of him.  You can’t help but fall for Doug throughout the book.  I hate how long it takes Zoey to figure this out!

All I can say is if you haven’t read this book yet then you are missing out.  You really need to go buy it and dive into this book! I know I will be buying it and the rest of her books as well!

MY RATING:

Outstanding Book That Will Stay On My Bookshelf
For Rereading!

I’ve heard such great things about this author but haven’t yet read her. You’ve convinced me I must remedy that! Great review!
