My Husband and I had some errands to run while we waited for it to get time to pick up the youngest from preschool.  We finished our errands and still had some time to kill.  The library wasn’t open yet, so my Husband wanted to know what we should go and do.  I had told him to just surprise me.  He ended up taking me to our local Goodwill in hopes of them having something new.  I noticed they had restocked the book section, and my Hubby told me to just go straight over there since I was drooling looking in that direction.  Look at the loot I got!!
These are all paperbacks. I already own a couple of them but at 50 cents each, I couldn’t pass on them. So I picked them up for weekly giveaways or to put on the sale page.
These are all hardback copies.  Again, I have some of them already, but it never hurts to set some aside for the weekly giveaway, for sale page, and twitter contests! Again they were only 50 cents each!
My hubby found these on the lower shelves for my oldest daughter.  For some reason she loves these manga books.  I have tried to read a few of them at her begging urging and just couldn’t figure out how to read them.  Hello! Since when do you read a book from the back to front?! Anyway, my hubby grabbed all of them we could find and picked them up for her.  Again, just 50 cents each!

After picking all these up, a couple binders I was needing, a few books for my youngest daughter, and I only spent $24.00!!!  Amazing!!! I love secondhand stores for books!

Chaz has no intention of playing for keeps—but she most definitely has intentions. Who needs true love when you’ve got true lust?
Sebastian has no idea what he’s in for—but maybe neither does Chaz…
MY THOUGHTS:
I am going to start off by saying that even though this is a young adult book, if you don’t like your teen to read about sex, then don’t even think about picking this book up.
Yeah, the cover comes off cute and girly, but inside the book the author covers a lot of deep and emotional things that teenagers are exposed to in real life.  The main character, Chaz, is strong willed and very horny! She is a senior in high school and on Christmas break.  She thinks about sex all the time and can’t wait to have some.  She doesn’t want a lasting relationship, just a quickie.  That all changes when she meets Sebastian.  Sebastian has secrets of his own that will keep you reading to find out what.  When you do find out what his deep, dark secret is, you might be scratching your head like I was.  For some reason the admission didn’t seem real.
I liked the book, and I liked the plot, but the characters to me were shallow at times.  They at times acted younger than the age they were suppose to be portraying.  The author touches on casual sex, teen pregnancy, cancer, some racy language, drinking and abortion.  Though that seems like a lot to put in a small book focused for teens, it did have an impact.
Overall, I enjoyed reading the book even though I had problems with some of the characters in the book.  I would pass on letting the younger teens read this, but would be a great read for older teens.
MY RATING:

Very Good! I would recommend this book!

Remember a while back how I received a bookshelf to review from CSN furniture? Well, it got me to thinking about what kind of furniture I would have in my dream home.  You know, in case my hubby and I ever strike it rich in this little town.

First wouldn’t this be beautiful in the bathroom?

I would love to primp myself in front of this and the site has even more bathroom vanities that would leave you drooling over!

Then there is the fancy library room, that I will someday have filled from ceiling to floor full of beautiful books!  My husband says that I am already on my way, but you can never have enough books and shelves!  This would be my dream shelves:

Please Wait
Changing Image…

Come on, you know you are drooling at this!

I am thinking I will have to at least get me a small bookshelf to tide me over until I win those millions of dollars from the lottery.

MY THOUGHTS:
I was so excited when this finally released! I ran to the store on release day and waited until they finally unloaded it onto the shelf. I snagged it and ran as fast as I could to the checkout. Yes, that is how addicted I am to this series.  I was anxious to find out how John Matthew and Xhex were going to come together and if John Matthew was going to finally figure out his past! Now that I have finished the book, I was a little disappointed in it.
First the good of the book.  I loved how we got to see the King Wrath and Payne together on the Far Side. I loved their fighting and eventually their friendship. Without trying to give away a spoiler, I loved how at the end of the book, Payne finally laid eyes upon someone she thought was long ago dead.  I look forward to the interaction between the two now.  I loved the tender moments between John Matthew and Xhex as well.  They made the couple more of a romantic couple instead of all sex and no love.  It gave them depth for their relationship that they both needed.  The reconnection between John Matthew and Tohr was also very touching.  I was glad to see the two finally work through the problems of the past and come together like Father and Son again.  It just goes to show that the past may have happened, but the future can become bright again.  I loved the back story of Darius and Tohr that the author threw in to the mix.  At first you wonder why we were having to read about it, but in the end, it makes perfect sense. The tension between Blay and Qhuinn also struck a new high in this book.  WOW. It makes me even more anxious for their book to come out. Go Team Qhuay!
Now for the bad of the book. Where do I begin?  For one thing, Xhex has always been a strong female with a smart mouth and take no shit kind of girl.  She didn’t dress up, never wore makeup and sure as hell never cried.  This book we see the tender side of her, and frankly, that was out of character for her.  I didn’t like how the author made her sappy.  I liked her strength and take charge attitude from the previous books. I was also disappointed in not getting the closure of John Matthew’s back story.  We have read about him from book one and now we have to continue to wait. Enough is enough. I know authors like to stretch it out, but to me it is getting a little frustrating.  The paranormal investigators were out there.  They just didn’t fit into the story and it made little impact for the book.  I understand it was used to set up plot for another character we will see in the future, but to me, it just didn’t fit in this book.  I hated how we didn’t get to see much of the brothers either.  We get to see little glances of them throughout the book, but since they have helped guide him into the man John Matthew is now,  you would think we would have seen more of them through this book.
Overall, this book just didn’t live up to the excitement and anticipation I was hoping for.  I, of course, will still keep reading the series and buying more of the books, but I hope the author gets her momentum back and give us more of what her loyal readers are asking for. I hope she quits torturing us, and get the action, love and speed of the first in the series back for book number nine!

Very Good! I would recommend this book!
