SYNOPSIS:

MY TAKE:

After reading the first book in this series, I was excited to finally receive this book from the library! I couldn’t wait to jump into the world that Rachel Hawthorne creates. This one though, didn’t capture my interest as much as the first. I still enjoyed th quick read, but Lindsey’s character just annoyed me. She keeps going back and forth between Rafe and Conner that near the end I was hoping both men would walk away from her. Lindsey seemed more like a little girl than a 17 year old in love. Overall though, it was a good enough book to check out from the library for those rainy days and quick reads. I liked how the end left us waiting for Brittany’s story in the next book. Even though I wasn’t blown away by this book, Ms. Hawthorne is still one of my favorite authors.

Okay, I just couldn’t wait until Friday to post these. I am laughing my butt off at some of the stuff I am finding for WTF Fridays. Since we are all holiday shopping this time of year I want to show you the dangers of toy shopping nowadays……

Now I know why my daughter never liked watching the Tarzan Disney movie!

I have been thinking about changing a few things around on my blog and would appreciate the input from my followers.

I have been watching J. Kaye arranging her blog differently for the upcoming year and it made me realize that I have not really made anything set in stone here on my blog. I have come up with a few ideas and wanted your opinion. Some of these things will be gradually introduced and other will wait until the new year begins. Here are the few things I am working on:

1. Sundays I am going to continue reviews, but I am also going to introduce a new meme. Well, it will be new on my blog, but I got the inspiration from other blogs as how to do it. On Sundays, I will feature different book bloggers. Kind of like my author Q&A’s, but with book bloggers instead.

2. I am thinking about after my birthday giveaway is over, I will be doing random contests. When I have a book to giveaway I will just post it and list it also on my contest page. This way it gives a fair chance to my loyal followers who read everyday. This will also free up my bookshelves faster so I can add newer books to my piles. So be on the look out for lots of giveways on my blog.

3. Reading challenges will be a new adventure for me this coming year. I plan on joing more than one at a time, and hosting some. I was really hoping that my Lynsay Sands challenge would have brought some people to join in reading, but no one signed up. My husband helped me realize that maybe it was because people don’t read as fast as I do since I can read on average 2 books a day. So I am going to be redoing that one and posting it with a longer timeline and with a prize as well. Look for the sign ups on it later this month.

4. I am also thinking of a sort of WTF? day. Strange photos I come across on the internet to give us all a good laugh.

I don’t want you all to think that there won’t be any reviews though. Reviews will still be posted everyday. These things will just be in addition to what I already have.
So does anyone have any other ideas?? What do you think about these?? Let me know!

MY TAKE:

I am always on the lookout for new books for my young daughter. This book featured colorful pictures that captured her interest and writing that was just as wonderful.
Logan goes out on the lake to go fishing. He catches a large yellow fish and the fish is magic. The fish tells Logan that he will grant him 3 wishes if he will let him go. Logan agrees and wishes to be rich, popular and happy all the time. When Logan thinks that the fish didn’t give him the wishes he goes to the lake to confront the fish. The fish explains that he did receive the wishes and explains how.
A touching read that gives children a great lesson at the same time.

11 And the townspeople rose up against him and all Onaners, calling upon one another to tear the youthful sinners limb from unclean limb. And there was much pants wetting.
12 And lo, Stuart did join forces with the demon, Fon Pyre, and together they did set forth to discover the cause of the town’s trouble.
13 And, hark! A pair of fallen angels would plant seeds of hatred unto the townspeople. And on the seventh day, Stuart did vow to rip the fallen angels a new one and layeth upon them an epic smacketh-down.

MY TAKE:

Okay, before you read any further, if you are easily offended, DO NOT READ! LOL…If you can see humor in everything, please read on.

I admit, the cover is what made me check this book out at my local library. I then went on to read the back of the book and thought this might be interesting. OMG! So not what you expect in a young adult novel!

Stuart is an openly gay teenager in a school and town that is very Christian based. Even though the town is accepting of him being gay, they are horrified to find out he masturbates. GASP! Okay if you can handle that, then you can handle the rest. The author finds humor in expressing this aspect with lines that will be having you laugh out loud! The author describes his writing style as Far Fetched Fiction and it is, but I have not laughed this much reading a book in awhile. Witty humor, fallen angels, and a wonderfully and devious little demon! What more could you ask for in a paranormal fiction book!

I will say though that I found this to be for older teenagers. I wouldn’t let my 14 year old read this without warning her of the story first. That is the only thing that kept me from giving this book the higher rating!
