Box of Books Birthday Bash Giveaway!!!!!

Hello all my fun followers! As promised, to help me celebrate my birthday, I am hosting a contest for everyone!!
You might ask yourself that I am funny to give something away for my birthday! Well, Mama always taught me it is better to give than to receive. She also told me Karma can be a bitch so always do good for it to happen in return. So I am going to spread good Karma and give at the same time!!!

Below you will see some books in a box. Some are used and some are new. That is what we are starting with! Yes, note I said starting with! When I hit 150 followers I will add 2 more books! When I hit 200 followers I will add another 2 books. Do you see a pattern here?! So we need to spread the word to add more books! Also, if I am having a good day here and there, I might be sneaky and post on here that I added a new book just for fun! SURPRISE! LOL…Hey it’s my birthday and I will do what I want. Just kidding. But keep an eye out for surprise posts about sneaky books that drop in the box!

UPDATE #1 : The bookmark collection was feeling left out, so they jumped in an envelope and hopped in the box already!

UPDATE #2 : Since I am a huge fan of author Lynsay Sands, I decided to share a book from her Argeneau series. I am including a NEW copy of Love Bites. This book decided to hop in for the contest too!

November is my Birthday Month. I wanted to do something special for my birthday since this is my first year having a blog. So I decided to snag a Box-Of-Books idea from Anna over at Anna’s Book Blog. She occasionally has a contest for a box that is stuffed with books that she has either read or will not get a chance to read. So later tonight I will be filling a box with books and adding pictures either tonight or tomorrow and start a contest. Imagine getting a whole box of books for free! So check back and let me share my birthday month with you! I have some other stuff planned as well!

MY TAKE:
This book doesn’t follow the normal style of writing. It is written in free verse as they call it in the big book world. I never read a fiction book that was written this way so this was new to me. For this book, the style worked. We got to see the story unfold from different points of views. This was a powerful read for young adult and adults. Everyone knows at school there are different crowds. You have the stoners, the drinkers, the popular kids, the geeks, and so on. In this book you will find different kids from different perspectives, yet they all fit together. We have the teenage pregnancy story that we hear about around town and the struggle for young parents. I was deeply moved by this book and I am already passing it to my teenage daughters to read. The author did a wonderful job with free verse and I hope that teens everywhere will read this and take it to heart. There is a lesson to be learned in each characters story.

SYNOPSIS:

Welcome to Ginger High.

MY TAKE:
As I read this book I had to keep reminding myself of 2 things-1.This is the authors first book and 2. The author is only 14 years old. With that being said, this was on okay book for teens, but you could also tell that this was a first book and by a young adult. There were too many characters to get a real feel for any of them. The story skipped around with holes throughout the plot. But again this was a 14 year olds first book. At that age she has plenty of time to fix her writing and create a masterpiece. Kudos to the author for already having a book published at that age!!
