The parts of this book that weren’t predictable, ended up being confusing and not really entertaining enough for the reader to want to sort through. I guess it is an okay book to pass the time away but one you can barely get sucked into.

I love this authors writing in the paranormal world. I even love it in the young adult world. This start to a new series in adult contemporary romance wasn’t one of her hits for me. The characters barely gave any real emotion and at times they went over the top and left me rolling my eyes. It had some great chapters in the book, but the bad heavily outweighed the good.

This was a sweet and tender read that was actually worth reading even though it was quite short. I would have loved a little more insight into the charity and the work they do for it. The characters were good and I actually liked them together. I think if this book was a full length book, then my rating would have been higher.

A sweet and gentle story that might have been too sweet and gentle. The characters were great and they fit together well. This one was just a little too tame for my current moods. That aside, the writing did flow nicely. Dialogue was nicely done and so was narrative. It just needed some OOMPH to it for this reader.

No contest. Now, working for Alien Investigation and Removal, she’s been ordered to capture the biggest, baddest warrior of all—a vampire too beautiful to be real, with the abilityto manipulate time. Once the leader of the entire vampire army, McKell has been deemed savage and unstable, spurned even by his own kind.To McKell, humans should be nothing more than sustenance. Yet the petite, golden-skinned Ava is a fascinating contradiction—vicious yet witty, strong yet vulnerable, lethal but fiercely loyal. Against his better judgment, McKell craves that loyalty, and much more. When the chase leads to seduction, McKell and Ava will race to discover the truth about his past. But the answers will come at a price, even for a woman who thought she had nothing left to lose. . . .

MY THOUGHTS:

I have been craving another installment in the Alien Huntress series and the day had finally arrived!  I love the writing style of author Gena Showalter, and when the publisher offered the book for review, I emailed them so quickly that I might have broken my computer mouse!

In the 5th book in the series, we get the chance to learn more about McKell.  Between bouts of laughter and swells of sadness, the story was written so well that I didn’t want it to end. I loved the plot and the characters and truly enjoyed this installment more than the previous books for some reason.  One thing I enjoy about the authors writing is that even if you haven’t read the entire series yet, she gives you just enough information to give you the basic rundown of the others without going overboard with history.

I loved how McKell’s personality balanced out Ava’s and vice versa.  McKell was the grump and was strict at times while Ava was lighthearted and knew how to make a comeback with McKell’s grumpiness.  Even though McKell is written as the Alpha male in the book, Ava makes sure he knows that she is the Alpha female of the story. If I could change one thing about the story it would only be the rushed feel of the ending.  I wanted a couple more chapters to make the book feel complete.

If you haven’t picked up a story written by Gena Showalter yet, you are truly missing out on a fantastic read!  She keeps you laughing with just the right amount of romance that will keep you craving more of her writing no matter what the story is about!

MY TAKE:
Oh why, oh why does Ms. Showalter make us wait so long between these books?? I am a HUGE fan of this series. I am always fascinated with how the author can take each demon and create a story with them and make it make sense! Sabin was one of my favorite characters and I was so happy that he finally got his turn to share his story of love and action with us! I wish we could just make the author release a new one each month. After the dry spell since the 3rd book, it was kinda difficult to remember some details. I almost had to reread the series since it took so long for this one to come out. This is number 4 in the series, so I recommend you read the first 3 before reading this one. The author writes them so well that I can’t even pick a favorite out of this series. Another winner by author Gena Showalter!

MY RATING:

Outstanding Book! A definite favorite!

MY TAKE:
FINALLY! My library took their sweet time getting to my name on the wait list for this book! I was so thrilled to get it last week! Gena Showalter is one of my favorite authors! She has never disappointed me in the past with her excellent writing skills and characters you care about who just jump off the page. Intertwined is about a boy, who since birth, has had four souls trapped inside his body. They speak to him all the time, and none of them understand how they ended up trapped in his mind. One can raise the dead, one can see the future, one can transport back in time and one can possess another human. I was so captivated with this story that I was sad when it ended. The ending was nothing like I expected and it gives you the insight that there will be a sequel to this book. I pray Gena can write the sequel to this book as fast as she can so we aren’t left hanging for a long time! I am anxious to see what happens next. I will definitely be buying this book to add to my Showalter collection, which silly me, I should have done in the first place! For the next book, I won’t even bother adding myself to the wait list at the library! I will be buying it the day it comes out!
