SUMMARY
(From Goodreads)

Genie Vana Aphrodite is having a pretty rough day. She’s failing to live up to the name “Aphrodite,” she’s stuck living in her master’s attic, and her powers are on the fritz. To make matters even worse, her master’s great-grandson, Zane, informs her that she has completely ruined his family’s reputation. Zane is ready to sell his family’s estate, genie and all but Vana’s bound and determined to fix her past wrongs. Can Aphrodite prove to him that his life needs a little bit of magic?

MY THOUGHTS

Author Judi Fennell always has a way with words.  She can make a book come to life with each chapter of her books.

While this is number three in the Bottled Magic series, Magic Gone Wild can be read as a stand alone if you haven’t made it through the first two books yet.  I love it when authors make sure that a series can be read out of order without being confused and lost.

Vana is a genie but her powers are far from perfect.  The only time she can get them to work is when Zane kisses her.  I thought this brought some fun to the story and made it very easy to read.  I couldn’t help but think of all the things that happened and compare her misadventures to Jeannie from I Dream of Jeannie.  Zane was not a believer until he is sent to Vana in her bottle.  She is trying to convince him not to sell his great-grandfathers house  while trying not to fall for Zane in the process.

Magic Gone Wild was a fun and entertaining read.  Magical, humorous, and romantic that touches all bases of paranormal romance.  A great new read from a talented author.

SYNOPSIS:
Mermaid Angel Tritone escapes a shark by jumping into single dad Logan Hardington’s fishing boat. All his young son Michael wants for his birthday is a mermaid, and if his dad will only play his cards right, now he’ll have one…
Angel wants to give Michael his most beloved birthday gift (a real live mermaid) while also getting to know his father and getting him to help her in her mission to stop humans from destroying the oceans. Logan has never met a woman who cared as much about the same things he does, and she’s never met a man who understood her deepest commitment to humanity and nature. When an enemy of conservation shows up and tries to kill Angel, Logan has to choose between continuing the life he’s known, or following the woman he loves to the bottom of the ocean…
MY THOUGHTS:
In the authors third book of the series, she has once again captured my interest in the sea!  Although I still hae a certain soft spot for Reel from the first book,  I enjoyed this book just as much.  This time we get to read the adventure of Angel Tritone.  If you are tired of all the vampire, werewolf, and other paranormal books that are out there, then this is a new spin of paranormal that features mermaids and mermen.
The author did a wonderful job of intertwining the human world and the paranormal world.  She has witty writing that keeps you entertained, and the perfect romance writing to keep the water boiling!  Another favorite book by a great author that will remain on my bookshelves for re reading time and again.

Back of Book:

When Erica Peck, one terrified-of-the-ocean marina owner, finds herself at the bottom of the sea conversing with a Mer man named Reel, she thinks she’s died and gone to her own version of Hell. When the Oceanic Council demands she and Reel retrieve a lost cache of diamonds from the resident sea monster in return for their lives, she knows she’s died and gone to Hell.

When they escape the monster and end up on a deserted island, she amends her opinion – she’s died and gone to Heaven.

But when Reel sacrifices himself to allow her to return to her world, she realizes that, Heaven or Hell, with Reel, she’s In Over Her Head.

My take:

I decided to step out of my vampire zone and try a different type of paranormal read this time. This book is about the people who live under the sea. Mer Men, as they call themselves, who have their own life and community under the sea that we have all heard in stories growing up. Atlantis? Sea Monsters? The Loch Ness? Yep, they all exist. Overall this book is one that I am glad I am adding to my bookshelf. It was well paced with characters I actually cared about. I was hooked on the first chapter all the way to the end. This is the first in a series and I am looking forward to her next books. I actually care to find out how the supporting characters in this book end up in the rest of the series. There was plenty of action, just the right amount of dialogue and scene set up, and most of all the romance was great! Now if only the next book would hurry and come out!

My rating:

Outstanding Book!
A definite favorite!
