MY THOUGHTS:
I found this book to actually be a great read! It wasn’t anything like I expected. There is plenty of suspense and drama and the writing is nicely detailed without going overboard.  The characters were interesting and it kept my interest all through the book.  The author seemed very knowledgeable of  mountain climbing. I actually understood what he was trying to explain.
Overall a great read, but not one I would read over and over again. I think it is because it is not my usual type of book though, not because it wasn’t well written.  A great story to capture your interest all the way until the end!

MY THOUGHTS:
Oh my. Where do I even begin?
I had such high hopes for this book.  The cover was amazing. The blurb sounded interesting, but the book was not.  The story is all over the place. The characters are horrible and uninteresting.  The writing style was not good.  I had to force myself to finish this book even though I wanted to put it down many times.
I will say though, that the beginning of the story had promise. It seemed like it wanted to take off, but just couldn’t get its feet off the ground.  This is my first read by this author and will probably be my last, but this is only my opinion of the book. It may be your cup of tea and you may enjoy it, but it was not well written in my opinion.

I did not enjoy this book.

He’s a hotshot firefighter addicted to risk.
She’s the sultry beauty he never saw coming.

Maya Jackson doesn’t sleep with strangers. Until the night grief sent her to the nearest bar and into the arms of the most explosive lover she’s ever had. Six months later, the dedicated arson investigator is coming face-to-face with him again. Gorgeous, grinning Logan Cain. Her biggest mistake. Now her number one suspect in a string of deadly wildfires.

Risking his life on a daily basis is what gets Logan up in the morning. As the leader of the elite Tahoe Pines Hotshot Crew, he won’t back down from a blaze—or from beautiful, lethal Maya Jackson. She may have seduced him with her tears and her passion, but it’ll be a cold day in hell before Logan lets down his guard again. But when Maya’s life is threatened, his natural-born-hero instincts kick in, and Logan vows to protect the woman sworn to bring him down. And as desire reignites, nothing—not the killer fire nor the killer hot on their trail—can douse the flames.…

MY THOUGHTS:
I just love Bella Andre’s writing. She makes a book come alive with ease.  This is the first book in the Hot Shots series and I was excited to start it.
I loved the characters and the spark was instantly there.  Logan and Maya made a great couple and each one was strong and independent.  I liked how it was a battle of wills between the two at first, then when they gave into the passion, the sparks started heating up the pages.  I also loved the secondary characters.  The suspense in the book left you guessing up until the end.  The only thing I didn’t like about this book is the ending. I didn’t like who the arsonist ended up being.  To me, it didn’t seem like this person could accomplish it and the reasoning was a little out there.  Other than that, the book in my opinion was great. I look forward to reading more of this series.
