Thanks to Harlequin, I have 3 copies of Marrying For King’s Millions by Maureen Child to give away.
Wed and bed one of his biggest client’s unsavory daughters? No thanks. But the only way millionaire Travis King could get the man off his back was to marry someone else. So he handpicked his temporary and on-his-terms bride– hometown girl Julie O’Hara. The woman was desperate and should easily fade into the background. And, as per their contract, she’d do exactly what he wanted during their year of platonic marriage. Unless what he wanted began to change.…

Sorry for the no posts today.  I was interviewed today on Blog Talk Radio by Book Junkie today for the Online Blogger Conference and after that I was busy around the house. For some reason, I couldn’t get anyone from the blogger world to come clean my house! LOL So, I had to break down and do it myself. Just wanted to let you all know that I will be back tomorrow with some reviews and such.  Also, if I can figure out how to get the interview to link on a blog post, I will add that as well.  Hope everyone enjoyed the first day of Spring today!

SYNOPSIS:

It was in November, a Thursday after swim practice. The thing with Mr. Tracy, Darren’s English teacher.
The thing was how Darren would think of it, afterward.
The thing that was vague and not-named.
The thing that hadn’t happened, anyway.

Darren Flynn has the perfect life — until that day in November.
After that day, after what happened (did it happen?), life is different. Darren is different. Nothing is as it was –– before. His friends, his family, even the people who are supposed to be in charge are no longer who Darren thought they were. Who can he trust, now?

MY THOUGHTS:

I had such high hopes for this book. When I first saw it in the young adult section at the library sale, I thought with that cover, shouldn’t it be in the adult section?  Then I looked at the blurb, and realized it was a book for young adults basically about sexual abuse.

When you first start reading it, you realize it is in fragment chapters. Short little chapters that don’t go too much into detail.  I was going nuts with it! The writing was too choppy and it went all over the place. I couldn’t tell which day it was, who was suppose to be in the conversation, and what the hell was going on.  I kept going thinking that it would get better.  I finally made it halfway through the book and just couldn’t take it anymore.

I couldn’t finish this book. It was boring and full of holes and it didn’t flow right to me. Not much detail in the chapters makes it hard to keep track of what is going on.

Fang will be the first to die.

Max’s desperate desire to protect Fang brings the two closer than ever. But can the team weather the storm, or will the turmoil rip them apart for the last time?

MY THOUGHTS:
When I got this book at the store I was jumping for joy! I was waiting for this book to come out and I couldn’t get to the store fast enough to snatch it up!
This book was so much better than the last couple in the series. The author found his footing and did not disappoint.  We still have plenty of action and plenty of suspense. I have been waiting for the story of Fang and Max to come to a head and climax.  Their relationship seemed to be on track and then BAM! The author not only throws in a new character to put a wrench in it, but he has Angel predict that Fang will be the first to die.
I am not going to give spoilers away, but you will need a box of tissues and you will be ready to throw this book at the wall by the time you get done. I screamed in frustration at the end and wanted to call Mr. Patterson and scream at him for doing this at the end! Even though the ending was packed full of emotion, it does leave you excited about the next book in the series!
Overall this book is by far, my favorite out of the series!  Even wtih all the crying it made me suffer through.  I can’t wait for the next book. Hopefully the author will have it coming out this year and not past that. We deserve the next book very quickly after what we have to go through in this book!
