SUMMARY
(From Goodreads)

The most combative—and tormented—of all the Ferals, Jag is a predator who hunts alone – until daemons terrorize the human population. To stop them, he partners with Olivia, a flame-haired Therian temptress as strong as she is beautiful. But Olivia is no ordinary immortal. The survivor of a vicious supernatural attack, she possesses a deadly and forbidden skill— one that must remain hidden, especially from the powerful Feral Warriors.

As Jag and Olivia’s sensual dance of dominance and seduction gets wilder and hotter, a dark force sets its sights on Olivia, threatening to destroy everything she has vowed to protect. And the only one who can save her soul is the arrogant jaguar shifter she lusts for but dares not love.

MY THOUGHTS

Let me tell you straight off the bat, Jag is one hot mo-fo! Seriously!  Yes he is arrogant and a pain in the wazoo at times, but he does not lack in sexuality and form.  Whew. I was hoping he would jump off the page and come alive before my eyes.

Author Pamela Palmer definitely upped the sexiness factor in this series with Rapture Untamed.  What starts out as a playful game between Olivia and Jag, slowly turns into an explosive — and at times rough — game of wills and sex.  Jag has had some things happen to him in the past that has shaped his personality.  He is hard to get along with and he can be pretty cruel at times to people and friends alike.

Olivia is part of the Therian Guard and has been called to the Feral House to help in the fight against the Daemons.  The only problem is that she is keeping a huge secret and could be the key in getting herself killed by the Feral’s themselves.  When Olivia is forced to team up with Jag and his sexual innuendos, she has a hard time fighting her nature and secret.

This book rocked with the action, suspense, magic and romance.  Each book in the series is getting better than the last — if that is even possible.  With each of the characters playing important roles in the series, we are getting a glimpse at future books with each one.

The ending was horrible in the fact that it is left on a cliffhanger and tortures the reader in having to wait for the next book.  Thankfully, I had the next book handy or I would have gone insane or stalked the author for little tidbits about the series. If you haven’t started reading the series, get on it readers.  You are really missing out on talent and amazing writing!

Outstanding book that will stay on my bookshelf for rereading!

Long ago, Samuel Thorne devoted his life to guarding Kate’s happiness. He wants what’s best for her, and he knows it’s not marriage to a man like him. To outlast their temporary engagement, he must keep his hands off her tempting body and lock her warm smiles out of his withered heart. It’s the toughest battle of this hardened warrior’s life…and the first he seems destined to lose.

MY THOUGHTS

Stand back people! I have found another author who knows her stuff when writing a Historical Romance!  Tessa Dare is now on my auto-buy list and I am not ashamed to admit it!

There are so many words and emotions that come to mind when I try to describe this book.  Beautiful. Entrancing. Witty. Suspense. Humor. Passion.  Seriously the list could go on and on.  I love how the author made Kate strong and independent.  She has a superficial flaw and has not let it bring her down — well, not too much.  She realizes what people see when they look at her, but she has accepted this and moved on.  Being orphaned at a young age and left to the care of a mean woman in charge,  she never let it get to her in a way that ruined her.  She accepted it for what it was and made a life for herself teaching music to her students.  Yet, even though she has made an honest life for herself, she still wonders about her family that gave her up.

Thorne was a man that you instantly knew was a man who could make a woman feel loved and safe.  He was a soldier and is very protective of Kate.  While the two share a past, only Thorne is the one who is aware of this.  Kate has forgotten their time together when she was young, but Thorne has never forgotten Kate.  He has watched over her from a distance and they both grew into characters the reader will love.

When unexpected people arrive claiming to be Kate’s true family,  Thorne doesn’t trust them even though he does know some secrets in either confirming or denying their accusations.  He claims Kate as his fiance and vows to get to the bottom of it all.  If only Kate could remember her past, then all could be sorted out.  Together they must learn the truth and fight the passion they both are experiencing for each other.

I enjoyed this book so much that I am looking forward to sitting down and reading the first two books in this series so I can enjoy all of the characters presented better.  While characters from previous books are mentioned and appear on the pages of A Lady By Midnight, a new reader of the series should have no problem reading this book out of order. Another wonderfully written story that will sweep you away!

Passion Untamed
Series: Feral Warriors #3

Genre: Paranormal Romance

SUMMARY
(From Goodreads)

Though the Mage witch, Skye, has a gentle heart, demonic forces have enslaved her, forcing her to kidnap Paenther, a powerful and dangerous Feral Warrior. Even chained and naked, Paenther is a cunning prisoner who seduces her, body and soul, turning captive into captor.

Paenther’s pride demands revenge against the enchantress who emerged from the deep woods like a sensual vision and enthralled him, even as she makes his body burn with passion. Despite his fury over her treachery, Skye’s gentle beauty calls to his soul, calming the wild chaos within him, and stealing his heart. But when evil threatens, Paenther and Skye’s only chance at survival is to trust in one another…and the power of love.

MY THOUGHTS

I have to say, first thing, that this is my favorite of the series so far.  Author Pamela Palmer brought everything to this book.  Sex, romance, suspense, drama, witty dialogue, and a great plot are just a few things you will find within the pages of the third installment in the Feral Warriors series.

We start with Paenther being imprisoned in a cave.  He comes face to face with the Mage witch that tricked him and captured him.  Paenther has a past with Mage witches and can’t stand them.  His hatred for them is worse than any of the other Feral Warriors because of this.  Without going into too much detail in the why of this, I will say that I can understand how he is feeling.  What he doesn’t expect is how Skye is different than other Mage.  She is a gentle soul and one that is pure.  What she is doing is not by choice, but one of force in which she has no understanding of what can come from her actions.  If she doesn’t do what she is told, Skye is forced to endure extreme torture and pain.

I loved seeing the softer side of Paenther in this book.  Yes he is strong and definitely a Warrior to be feared, but he is also gentle when needed.  He starts to realize what has happened and starts to fall for the Mage witch.  While he starts to bring Skye into his world a little bit,  he doesn’t give his full trust to her until you least expect it.

The battle is just beginning to erupt within the Warrior and Mage war to free the evil into the human world.  This is one fight you won’t want to miss!  Allies are aligning with each, troubles are arising within both groups, and romance is found where you least expect it.  One of the best books in the series so far!

But with the immortal world’s answer to law enforcement hunting them, their time together is running out . . . and Paul and Jeanne Louise will need to risk everything to spend an eternity together.

MY THOUGHTS

The Lady Is A Vamp by Lynsay Sands is the 17th book in the Argeneau Vampire series.  I have been a fan of author Lynsay Sands for a long time now.  I have loved her books, gushed about the books, and even interviewed the author and characters on the blog.  When the newest book in the series arrived in my mailbox, I mowed everyone down that stood in my way to the reading chair and settled in for a few hours to devour the story.

Paul Jones is on a mission to save his daughter.  She is dying of a brain tumor that is inoperable, and he is needing someone of the Immortal variety to save her.  After working for Argeneau Enterprise for quite some time,  he already knows about the secrecy and danger of what could happen.  After he finds himself drawn to the exotic Jeanne Louise, he decides that he needs to kidnap her and convince her to turn his daughter to save her.  He plans it out and makes his daring kidnapping using a tranquilizer that he has been working on for the Enforcer Group. After kidnapping Jeanne Louise, he brings her to his house and chains her up in his office.

Jeanne Louise wakes to discover that she is having a hard time reading Paul.  She blames it on the tranquilizer and tries to figure out why she has been kidnapped.  While Paul doesn’t treat her like a prisoner, she still realizes that she could still be in danger from him.  When Jeanne Louise finally figures out that she can’t read Paul because he is her lifemate, she tries to figure out a way to make him fall for her and accept her as a wife instead of a tool to use for his daughters salvation.  She grows to love Pauls daughter as her own and wants to save her, but she can only turn one person in a lifetime.  She wants that person to be her lifemate as well.

Oh Ms.Sands loves to pull at the heartstrings.  I was already sniffling by chapter two and by chapter four I had tears in my eyes.  Paul’s daughter is so sweet and innocent and you can’t help but wonder how this story is going to end.  As the two become closer and realize there is chemistry between them, the decision of who to turn is decided by an unlikely person.  This is where I was ready to blow up at the author because she brings in Bricker and he is one of my favorite characters.  Seriously, I have begged the author to include me as Bricker’s lifemate when his story comes around, but I think she has me blocked now from all of the begging.  Anyway, Bricker feels horrible about the turn of events, and Lucien is forced to make some hard decisions for everyone involved.

What I loved the most about this installment though was how the author brought the story back to its roots from the beginning.  Previous characters were involved in the story, the tender romance with witty humor was present, and the story flowed beautifully.  I felt like this story was one of the best books in this series since the earlier ones.  I really enjoyed it and it brought back that reading addiction that Ms. Sands can create with just one story.  I really want to go back and start reading the whole series now just to keep my Argeneau fix going!

Another great book to add to your collection and one that will pull at your heart with emotions of love, sadness, and happily ever afters.

MY THOUGHTS

If you have been a regular reader of my blog, you should know by now that I am a very picky reader when it comes to Historical Romance.  They have to be written very well and have a believable romance or I will pass on it in a heartbeat.  I have heard so many wonderful things about this book and when a friend of mine sent it to me, I was excited to start reading about Derek and Sara.

At first, I thought I was going to loathe Derek Craven.  He was pushy, arrogant, bossy and had a mean streak as well.  I didn’t think I would be able to fall for him as a hero and that I would be disappointed.  Sara was the complete opposite in having patience, a firm hand, and curiosity that could kill a cat in no time flat.  To make Sara even better in my mind, the author gave her a backbone to stand up to Derek Craven when needed.  The women in Historical Romance usually have a spongy backbone at best and are always bending to do the bidding of the hero.  This was not the case in Dreaming of You.

I loved the slow build of the romance between Derek and Sara.  You could feel it blossoming with each chapter no matter how much Derek denied it.  He could be cruel at times to others, but with Sara he let his emotions surface when he didn’t think they were visible.  I really loved watching him turn from someone without an ounce of care for the women he pursues to a man who would cherish his woman with the upmost respect and adoration they deserve.

The ‘evil’  character of the book named Joyce, had my skin crawling in hatred.  I could not stand her and wanted her to get the punishment she deserved.  I literally wanted to reach into the book and pull that woman’s hair out by the roots.  To me she deserved so much more in the punishment department than what she did get.

Historical Romance writers need to take notes on this authors writing.  This is how you write one.  When a reader who is very picky with this genre takes note of a book in a good way, you know that author is doing something right.  This book is easily the best Historical Romance I have read this year and I can’t wait to read more by author Lisa Kleypas.
