SUMMARY
(From Goodreads)

Genie Vana Aphrodite is having a pretty rough day. She’s failing to live up to the name “Aphrodite,” she’s stuck living in her master’s attic, and her powers are on the fritz. To make matters even worse, her master’s great-grandson, Zane, informs her that she has completely ruined his family’s reputation. Zane is ready to sell his family’s estate, genie and all but Vana’s bound and determined to fix her past wrongs. Can Aphrodite prove to him that his life needs a little bit of magic?

MY THOUGHTS

Author Judi Fennell always has a way with words.  She can make a book come to life with each chapter of her books.

While this is number three in the Bottled Magic series, Magic Gone Wild can be read as a stand alone if you haven’t made it through the first two books yet.  I love it when authors make sure that a series can be read out of order without being confused and lost.

Vana is a genie but her powers are far from perfect.  The only time she can get them to work is when Zane kisses her.  I thought this brought some fun to the story and made it very easy to read.  I couldn’t help but think of all the things that happened and compare her misadventures to Jeannie from I Dream of Jeannie.  Zane was not a believer until he is sent to Vana in her bottle.  She is trying to convince him not to sell his great-grandfathers house  while trying not to fall for Zane in the process.

Magic Gone Wild was a fun and entertaining read.  Magical, humorous, and romantic that touches all bases of paranormal romance.  A great new read from a talented author.

A VAMPIRE IN CHAINS

Held captive in a basement prison, wrapped in silver chains, the vampire Gideon is too weak to fight the monster who enslaves him. For years, she’s tapped his precious blood like a fountain of youth—sustaining him with human females she captures for his pleasure. But with the latest victim she brings him, he senses something intriguingly different. Something dangerous, yet oh so tempting.

Kay Alissano is no ordinary woman. Every full moon, she must answer the call of the wild—unleashing the wolf within. As daughter of the Shadow Pack’s Alpha, Kay is extremely powerful—and when she’s offered up to Gideon, she doesn’t surrender easily. In wolf form, she might be able unchain Gideon’s heart and set them both free—if only he can resist the urge to consume her, body and soul, before the next full moon.

MY THOUGHTS

I have said it before and I will say it again,  Amanda Ashley writes the best vampire romance!  I have always enjoyed her books.  One of the main reasons her books are so enjoyable, is because she takes us back to the “true vampire romance” with not a sparkly vampire in sight.

Gideon has been held captive by an evil witch who uses his blood for money, youth and beauty.  The witch gives him females to feed off of, but he fights it because Gideon is not evil.  He doesn’t want to hurt these women even though he knows there is no chance for escape.

When the witch captures Kay, she is thrown into the cage with Gideon.  When Gideon tastes her blood he can tell she is not human.  Kay is half wolf and half human.  Every full moon she transforms and becomes a predatory wolf that refuses to kill humans.  She has been living on her own away from her pack.  Her father is the Alpha, but he is not the normal Alpha we read about because he is far from friendly.

Kay helps Gideon escape his cage and together they go into hiding from the witch and Kay’s family. Now they have to hide from a vengeful witch, an angry wolf daddy, and also try to fight their attraction of each other.

Again, author Amanda Ashley will take you on a fun ride and has expanded her paranormal world to include werewolves as well as vampires.  With the romance of these two, the sky is the limit on what she will bring to the readers next.  I can’t wait for another wild adventure from Amanda Ashley!

Or are some things just too terrible to forgive?

MY THOUGHTS

Hell On Wheels is the first book in the Black Knights Inc. series.  Author Julie Ann Walker has brought the reader and action packed romantic suspense to keep you interested until the last page.

When I was first notified of this new series,  I was excited to find a new author to add to my reading list.  If you are looking for a book full of action, suspense, hot romance and edginess to keep you going, then Hell On Wheels fills all of this listed.  I really enjoyed the writing style and the characters.  The heroine was a little over the top, but I took it in stride and enjoyed the story.

I will mention that this book does fall into the trap of first books in a series.  It seemed to be over abundant in characters and scene building.  Unfortunately when going into a series, you have to come to expect the author in trying to push everything onto the reader at once.  Hopefully this will be something that is cleared up before the next books are released.  I really want to enjoy the next book and don’t want to be bogged down by all the replay of it again.

There are also scenes in the book that will bring tears to your eyes, so be warned.  This is a good thing though in knowing that the writing is done well enough to be able to pull you into that emotional turmoil.
While the book was not one of my favorites,  I am anxious to start the next one when it releases.  A quick paced read and one with great story.

Obsession Untamed
Series: Feral Warriors #2
Author: Pamela Palmer
Publisher: AVON
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Source: Personal Purchase
ISBN: 9780061667527

SUMMARY
(From Goodreads)
They are called Feral Warriors-an elite band of immortals who can change shape at will. Sworn to rid the world of evil, consumed by sorcery and seduction, their wild natures are primed for release . . .

Every time she closes her eyes, Delaney Randall suffers another nightmare. A brutal serial killer has found his way inside the tough, take-no-prisoners FBI agent’s head. Now she lives the murders through his eyes, from his deadly approach to his victims’ screams-until the night he breaks into her apartment and she fears she’s going to be the next to die.

But the man who snatches Delaney from her home isn’t the murderer. He’s Tighe, a dangerous Feral Warrior who needs her and her visions to stop the rampages of a creature as inhuman as he is evil. Tighe has little use for humans, but as he and Delaney join forces to track the dark fiend, he falls for the intense beauty and becomes wild with an obsession as untamed as his heart.
MY THOUGHTS

Obsession Untamed is the second book in the Feral Warriors Series by Pamela Palmer.  After an exciting first book, I was anxious to pick up where we left off.  I had a soft spot for Tighe after Desire Untamed since he seemed to be like a big brother to Kara.  He was sweet, but he was just as strong and vicious as Lyon when needed.

This book certainly took it up a notch — especially in the violence.  I will say that some scenes were graphic and might not be for all readers.  The kitchen scene in particular with the Clone and Delaney was pretty graphic in a sexual nature and might have some readers closing the book.  I on the other hand, decided to keep going and was surprised that it didn’t really bother me as much as I thought it would.  I didn’t think the author was going to address the scene in future scenes.  I wanted Delaney to deal with the bottled up emotions from the event, and eventually she does.  The reader just has to be patient for it.

I liked the side story of Paenther and Foxx as well.  While the rest of the warriors are working on tracking the clone and helping restore Tighe’s soul, Paenther and Foxx are out looking for the lost Feral Warrior Vhyper.  While they don’t find him in this book,  something does happen to set up the story for the next book in the series.

I also liked the friendship that evolved between Kara and Delaney.  I could see these two becoming best friends and leaning on each other when needed —  especially with all the testosterone in the Feral House.

If I had one major complaint it would be the repeated cat and mouse game between Tighe and the clone.  It became repetitive and dragged the story quite a bit.  Even with this complaint though, the characters and world that the author created has kept me interested in the whole series.  I have even started to become attached to one of the characters and can’t wait to see his book arrive.

MY RATING

Very Good! I would recommend this book!

SUMMARY
(From Goodreads)

They are called Feral Warriors–an elite band of immortals who can change shape at will. Sworn to rid the world of evil, consumed by sorcery and seduction, their wild natures are primed for release . . .

Kara MacAllister’s quiet small-town life is transformed forever the night a powerful stranger rips her from her home, claiming she is the chosen one–the key to his survival.

Spiriting her away into the rain-soaked night, Lyon reveals a truth Kara can barely credit. She’s immortal, and the only one who can save his race. And deep within her, he arouses a fierce, primal hunger beyond anything she’s ever imagined.

But only when their lives are threatened by an ancient evil will Kara and Lyon realize they have found a love they would risk their immortal souls to claim . . . and a powerful desire that could never, ever be tamed.

MY THOUGHTS

First of all, can we all take a moment to drool over that amazing and nude cover photo?  I’ll wait while everyone goes and gets a napkin to clean up.

Okay, now that we have that out of our system, let us talk about the story behind that cover.  I was a little confused at first just because you have to keep track of the many Feral Warriors that are introduced in the first chapter.  While their names give you the clue in what animal they become, there still is quite a few of them that you have to remember which personality goes with which character.  After getting it all straight, we are introduced to Kara who is taking care of her dying mother.  Since the Feral Warriors are in need of their Radiant — who is the source of their power — Lyon searches for the new Radiant and finds Kara.  He tries to kidnap her but she is stubborn and strong.  When she escapes and rushes back to her mother,  she finds her mother taking her last breaths.  When Lyon tries to convince her of her lineage and her new destiny, she questions her mother on her identity.  Her mother confirms that she is not related to her by blood with her final breath.  With nothing left, Kara goes with Lyon back to the Feral Warrior House.

I will say there are some moments that you will be rolling your eyes at some of the actions of all characters involved.  Just go with the flow and carry one my faithful readers.  It does improve.  Yes, you will still eye roll, but you will accept it and enjoy it.  I really liked the Mage and the Therian races battling for control.  I was a little wary of the way the ceremonies are performed,  — especially the ascension ceremony — but hey, I have read stuff that would put this in the tame category.  Just wanted to mention that sexy is definitely part of it for the tamer crowd.  Once Kara accepts what she has become, the author throws in another twist and leaves the Feral Warriors questioning her.  This leads to some sexy scenes between Kara and Lyon.  When this problem is revealed to be something else, the author again throws some surprises at the reader.  Author Pamela Palmer is very good at throwing the reader down another path than what is expected.

While the ending does have a Happily Ever After for certain characters,  you can also tell that the story is far from over.  It brings promise of the other characters getting a book and surprises to keep you guessing.  I am curious to see how the author is going to redeem a certain character and how she is going to fix the others.  I can’t wait to start the next book!
