Anything He Wants
Series: Dominated By The Billionaire #1-5
Genre: Erotica / Romance

SUMMARY
(From Goodreads)

Lucy Delacourt’s temp position isn’t quite her dream job but it pays the bills. The highlight of her day is riding the elevator in the mornings with a handsome stranger. Tall, dark, and sexy as hell, Lucy knows he’s way out of her league, but a girl can look, right?

Everything changes the day the stranger seduces her. Completely out of character, she yields without a fight, but she has no idea her wanton acts with a man whose name she doesn’t know will change her life forever. Because the sexy stranger is none other than Jeremiah Hamilton, billionaire CEO of Hamilton Industries, and one taste isn’t nearly enough to satisfy his need.  As the billionaire pulls Lucy deeper into his world of high stakes business deals and ruthless takeovers, he demands nothing less than her complete surrender.  But even as enemies seek deadly revenge against him, she’ll discover that her greatest threat is falling for her fiercely guarded boss…and yielding to her own darkest needs.

MY THOUGHTS

I had been dying to start this series ever since I saw it offered on Amazon as short novels in a series.  I kept telling myself that I would wait until they were all released before deciding if I wanted to purchase them.  Then I noticed in the store that they had packaged them all in one print book and decided to risk it.

Right after the first chapter I knew I was going to have problems with this book.  The writing was contradictory in so many things.  One minute she is an innocent heroine with little experience and the next she is tramping it up all over the building.  Jeremiah was so dominant at times that he bordered on rapist and walking a fine line for a sexual harassment suit.  For instance, when you are there for a job interview and the man interviewing you makes you bend over his desk so he can look at you while asking interview questions, well then honey you need to run.  Also, can someone please tell me how choking someone to the point of nearly passing out would be something you do to someone who has never participated in a BDSM relationship before?

By the time I was reaching the home stretch of this book, I was finally starting to get a little bit of interest in the plot and characters.  Then the author seriously ends the book the way she did?  I don’t think I could see myself reading this story further if the author is planning on continuing the story with another installment.

As Twilight Falls
Author: Amanda Ashley
Genre: Paranormal Romance

SUMMARY
(From Goodreads)

Photographing ghost towns across the American West, Kadie Andrews takes a wrong turn and ends up in Morgan Creek—a spot that isn’t on the map. It’s a quaint little place, but there’s something off about its complacent residents. And when twilight falls, it takes on a truly sinister air…

Unable to run or to find any way out, Kadie finds herself a prisoner, hunted for her blood. Still more disturbing, her spirit and beauty have captured the attention of the town’s leader—the mysterious Rylan Saintcrow. When he looks into her eyes, she can see his hunger. When he takes her in his arms, she can feel his power. When he presses his lips against hers, she can taste his need. Saintcrow may be the most powerful creature she’s ever imagined, but Kadie knows in her heart that he is also a man. A man who needs a woman. To want him, desire him, crave him. To be his willing prisoner—for all eternity…

MY THOUGHTS

I know this review is early, but it is hard for me to contain my excitement when it comes to books written by this author.  She is one of my favorites when it comes to vampire romance.

When Kadie Andrews gets lost and runs out of gas, she finds herself trapped in the town of Morgan Creek.  When she is taken in by one of the town vampires, she can’t believe vampires exist.  When the town people start revealing piece by piece why they are trapped in Morgan Creek, Kadie still refuses to accept being trapped like cattle.  Even though she starts to fall for the head vampire named Rylan Saintcrow, she still craves her freedom and hoping to return to her sick sister and parents.  While Kadie struggles with her feelings for Rylan and for captivity, Rylan is dealing with the few vampires in town planning a mutiny.  They are tired of following his rules and are wanting to embrace their predatory vampire nature.

The main reason I enjoyed this book — and every book written by this author in the past — is because of the way the vampire lore is portrayed.  There are no sparkles and not all of the characters are always perfect.  The vampires have killed — they still kill at times — but they do fall in love.  There is fluff and there is shake-your-head moments with the characters, but it gives you a feel good feeling of reading what true vampire/paranormal romance books used to be and what they can continue to be.

Another great book by and author who stays true to her writing roots and always has me swept away from page one.

Very Good! I would recommend this book!

Reaper’s Property
Author: Joanna Wylde
Genre: Erotica / Romance

SUMMARY
(From Goodreads)

Marie doesn’t need a complication like Horse. The massive, tattooed, badass biker who shows up at her brother’s house one afternoon doesn’t agree. He wants Marie on his bike and in his bed. Now.

But Marie just left her abusive jerk of an ex-husband and she’s not looking for a new man. Especially one like Horse—she doesn’t know his real name or where he lives, she’s ninety percent certain he’s a criminal and that the “business” he talks with her brother isn’t website design. She needs him out of her life, which would be a snap if he’d just stop giving her mind-blowing orgasms.

Horse is part of the Reapers Motorcycle Club, and when he wants something, he takes it. What he wants is Marie, but she’s not interested in becoming “property of”.

Then her brother steals from the club. Marie can save him by giving Horse what he wants—at home, in public, on his bike… If she’s a very, very good girl, she’ll get lots more of those orgasms only he can offer, and he’ll let her brother live.

Maybe.

MY THOUGHTS

Oh my. Where can I start this review? How do I share my feelings on this book.  Let us start with just admitting that this book is addictive. Lets create a Reaper margarita!

1 shot of Son’s of Anarchy
1 shot of Undeniable by Madeline Sheehan
Throw in a shot of Motorcycle Man by Kristen Ashley.
Stir that cocktail up and you have Reaper’s Property by Joanna Wylde.

We have motorcycle clubs, bad bikers, violence, sex, and a man named Horse.  Why would a man go by the name of Horse?  Well, because he is hung like a horse. Yes. Take that in people.  Everyone in the book even agrees to it. He will even flat out tell you this.

Marie: So why are you called Horse?
Horse: Cause I’m hung like one.”

I really loved the down and dirty inside look at the Motorcycle Club world.  It can be full of violence and sex, but it also can be filled with family and fun. I think the main thing I loved about this book was the alternating point of views.  We get to read from both Marie and Horse’s POV.  I wasn’t a fan of how the book started out jumping from one point in time to another and then back though.  If I had to complain about one thing, then that would be it.  This author is my new addiction.  I really hope we get to dive into the Reaper family some more in future books because I have fallen for these Alpha-holes hard!

FAVORITE QUOTE

“Nope, not Jesus, just a man,” Horse whispered.
“Although when women see my dick for the first time, they’ve been known to fall down on their knees and worship me.”

Deliver Me From Temptation
Series: Paladin Warriors #2
Author: Tes Hilaire
Genre: Paranormal Romance

SUMMARY
(From Goodreads)

Logan Calhoun is the last full-blooded Paladin, the future leader of a race of immortal warrior angels. The heavy responsibility of continuing the Paladin line falls to him, and the last thing he should do is get involved with a human. Then fate throws Jessica Waters, a homicide detective who doesn’t believe in fate or divine intervention, into his path. Her devotion lies in her Glock and a good set of handcuffs. Like Logan, she’s a warrior for her people, and she awakens within him something he’d never thought he’d feel. But she’s also as human as they come…

MY THOUGHTS

This is the second book in the Paladin Warrior series by author Tes Hilaire.

First, be sure to read the first book in this series before committing to this one.  I had a hard time getting into this book so I had moved it to the back burner for a bit.  Then I purchased the first book in the series hoping that it would help me with the second one in understanding and enjoyment of it.  Reading the first book helped out so much.  By the time I got to Deliver Me From Temptation I was in the swing of things and enjoying the Paladin world.

Logan and Jessica were both strong characters that shined in this book.  I enjoyed the plot, the story and the romance.  I loved the scene from both sides of the fence where duty was concerned and when it came to the climax of the story, I was thoroughly invested in this series.  I personally can’t wait for the next book in this series even if I did get a late start to it!

Very Good! I would recommend this book!

Just a Cowboy and His Baby
Series: Spikes & Spurs #6
Author: Carolyn Brown
Genre: Romance

SUMMARY
(From Goodreads)

One determined, hell-on-wheels cowgirl. One equally determined, sexier-than-hell cowboy. One innocent baby, who suddenly takes center stage and everybody’s priorities are suddenly up for grabs.

With a young baby dropped in his lap, bronc rider Trace Coleman’s world is turned upside down. Suddenly, Gemma O’Donnell, his stiffest competition on the rodeo scene, is now the one person who can help him. She’s already resisting his sexy smile and even sexier swagger, but she can’t resist a baby. When it comes down to it, only one can win, but is winning more important than love and family?

MY THOUGHTS

Alright, I am just going to put this out there.  I am at my breaking point with Cowboy romances.  Why do they have to be so cliched? I am usually a fan of author Carolyn Brown, but lately they have just gone downhill in my opinion.

I couldn’t bring myself to care what happened to either of the characters or the plot.  The story itself was stalled in some parts and then rushed in other areas.  Of course since it is a cowboy romance, the romance is set in a rodeo setting.  Can’t we just have a cowboy romance that doesn’t have so much focus on rodeo and bronc riding? Can’t we have cowboys out on the trail like City Slickers? Anyway, I was saying I couldn’t get into the characters.  While some parts of the book were funny, it didn’t make up for the fact that there isn’t much spark between Gemma and Trace.

I think I am going to take a break on cowboy romance for a bit. Obviously I am not getting the feel-good vibe from them and hopefully when I touch base with them again, I will enjoy them and this authors writing again.
